In this quick video, I’m going to show you how to set your website logo and Favicon in WordPress
So what you’re going to do is log into your WordPress website and select Customize. And then come over to Site Identity.
Here, you can set your logo and Favicon, also known as the Site icon.
A rule of thumb that I like to follow for my logo is not to make the file more than 100 to 150 pixels tall; otherwise, it will take up too much vertical space. And your header will be too tall, and you don’t want that. So this is a good height for my header because my logo isn’t too, too big, too tall. You also want to ensure that when you are exporting your logo from Canva or taking it from your designer (your designer will definitely do this for you), you want to have your logo and favicon to have a transparent (clear) background. Otherwise, a white box will be displayed behind your logo and favicon.
In terms of file type, there’s a couple of options, you can use the Web P format, you can use the SVG format or you can use the PNG format. And so PNG will be generally the largest of the sizes but also very high quality. So you can also get a high quality SVG and a very high quality WP. So all three work really, really well. Web P is the latest and greatest new file type. And so you can use a conversion plugin or tool to do that. So, I hope you found this video.
